Beautiful area just outside Kamloops. The lake is great for skating (if you clear it!). Xcountry skiing (your own tracks) is also possible in winter.

It's also called as battle bluff . Best hiking place has little tuff routes. Best for group hiking and fire camping. I had been for this place hiking in the summer time. Lake view is awesome from the top. Sunset looks awesome. There is a train route that passes at the bottom corner across the hill. The view of this is stunning .

There are so many beautiful things to see if you are willing to look. Its semi arid and so not as obviously lovely as the more lush coast. In the spring the back of sage leaves has fushia colored fuzzy "flowers" (or whatever they are). The one and only cactus blooms every second year with light yellow, tissue delicate flowers. There are all sorts of birds including hawks and eagles in the air, and a herd of mountain sheep (or goats) that you can see each spring and fall.

Being from the lower mainland I've never seen terrain like this. The desert mountains must look even more amazing in the spring and summer.

Beautiful place, beautiful scenery. Its a great get away from the city, there's 4×4ing. Motorbiking, places to have a campfire, lakes for fishing. Camping, Mcqueen Lake. Offroading, tobogganing in the winter. Trails to walk on, Eagles to watch.
